Forindo supports the Royal Golden Eagle (RGE) group with the operational procurement of key direct raw material categories Chemicals, Energy, Packaging and Consumables/MRO etc that goes into the production of our finished goods in fibre (pulp, paper, tissue & board), specialty cellulose and textiles (viscose fibre, lyocell) and palm oil & derivatives, which we produce in Indonesia, China, Malaysia, Brazil, Canada etc. Our vision is to create and maximize value for our shareholders, customers and counterparties by forging lasting and successful relationships and partnerships that will generate win-win commercial opportunities.
This exciting position reports to the Group Head of Operation Procurement.
The summary of the role:
- Lead all market and data analysis efforts for key commodities and finished goods, supported by the category procurement teams.
- Focus on short to medium term market intelligence efforts not limited to global S&Ds, market recap, POV updated weekly for key commodities, usage of best-in-class external tools, supply and demand fundamental drivers etc.
- Lead all data crunching to analysis models to models interpretation resulting in short/medium/long term point of views for key categories.
- Own the research publications and analysis tools subscribed to support the role and business.
- Deepen and broaden our understanding of global and regional macroeconomic and industrial factors affecting the commodity categories that we purchase.
- Work with other Market Intelligence personnel from strategic planning and sales teams, from time to time, to collaborate on joint projects.
- Debate perspectives with peers, analysts, partners, and customers. Transform raw information into meaningful intelligence for decision making and planning.
- Participation in procurement digitalization projects when needed.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, it is recommended that you should have the following skills and qualifications:
- Graduate in Business Management or related field from a reputable university.
- At least 2-5 years of commodity market analysis experience.
- Good market analysis experience in commodities.
- Data analysis tools experience like Power BI, Tableau, Qlik etc would be very advantageous.
- Proven ability and experience in building up market analysis models from scratch turning raw data into actionable market analysis intelligence, knowing where to find quality raw data, understanding of key price drivers for each commodity etc.
- Good interpersonal and communication skill to interact with different levels of people
- Proficient in English language (written and spoken). 2nd language proficiency (e.g. Bahasa Indonesian or Chinese) will be a plus.
- Must be willing to travel (5-15% on average).
