Key Responsibilities
- Pioneer the development of a comprehensive compliance framework adhering to regulations from multiple jurisdictions, including Singapore, U.S., Hong Kong, and Cayman Islands
- Proactively identify and address compliance gaps, developing an in-house compliance function
- Stay ahead of regulatory changes, assessing their impact and implementing innovative solutions
- Build and nurture positive relationships with regulatory bodies through strategic communication
- Lead cross-departmental collaboration to ensure up-to-date company policies and procedures
- Spearhead compliance checks on new products or services, driving a culture of compliance
- Design and conduct cutting-edge compliance tests and reviews, providing strategic advice to management on regulatory matters
- Take ownership of AML/CFT alerts and investigations, implementing best practices
- Serve as the Singapore Data Protection Officer, championing data privacy initiatives
- Drive additional compliance initiatives as the function evolves
Job Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of compliance experience in financial services, with a strong preference for fund management background
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus
- Professional qualifications such as ICA or ACAMS are highly valued
- Deep knowledge of MAS regulations; familiarity with other jurisdictions is a significant advantage
- Proven track record in liaising with regulators and building compliance frameworks from scratch
- Exceptional multitasking and prioritization skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence and educate stakeholders on complex compliance matters
