We are currently building a leading banking and finance panel in the areas of expertise set out below. If you are a highly-skilled and self-driven lawyer with top tier technical experience in these areas then we are keen to hear from you:

  • Wealth Management

There really is no limit to the diversity of high-level work open to you.

Client assignments can range from stepping into a team to support a project to taking on a senior manager role working on major transactions or regulatory change projects or implementation. Assignments are usually two to six months in duration and tend to require you work a minimum of four days per week.

You may also have the opportunity to work within A&O Shearman on an ad-hoc basis, supporting teams when needed or joining them for fixed periods to work on a deal.

Key requirements

  • A right to work and reside in Singapore
  • Minimum of five years post-qualification experience gained at a top tier law firm and in-house experience with a leading financial institution
  • Singapore or other common law qualification (Hong Kong, Australia, England & Wales, US)
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in private banking work within Singapore
  • Knowledge and experience in other products gained within a global bank, such as capital markets, derivatives, investment and fund structuring is highly beneficial
  • Self-starter with a commitment to building a career as a consultant and a drive to achieve at a high level whilst working as a consultant
  • Adept at working within complex multi-functional, multi-national environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface at all levels, building strong relationships internally and externally
  • Client service-focused, with exemplary client service ethic and commitment
  • Strong commercial/business acumen
  • Resilient, adaptable, autonomous and highly credible
  • Advanced organisational and project management skills

  • In-house with one of our clients - one assignment could be stepping into a team to support a project, while another a senior manager role tackling regulatory change. Assignments can range from two to six months in duration and are usually worked four days per week.
  • In the A&O Shearman practice on an ad-hoc basis, supporting teams when needed or joining them for fixed periods to work on a deal.

We only take you on when we see a demand for your particular expertise, making sure there is a good chance we can provide you with work on an on-going basis. We cannot guarantee work but we are every bit as invested in moving your career forward as you are.
