Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Gaffer to join our Filming Tech Crew. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lighting for film and video production, with the ability to design and implement effective lighting setups that enhance the visual quality of our projects. You will collaborate closely with the Director of Photography and other crew members to achieve the desired lighting effects and maintain high production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lighting Design: Develop and execute lighting plans that align with the creative vision and technical requirements of each project.
- Setup and Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain lighting equipment, including lights, dimmers, and lighting control systems.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Photography, camera operators, and other crew members to ensure cohesive and effective lighting setups.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve lighting issues on set, ensuring smooth and efficient production workflows.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all lighting setups comply with safety regulations and best practices.
- Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and inventory of lighting equipment, ensuring all gear is in good working condition.
- Innovation: Stay current with the latest lighting technologies and techniques to bring innovative solutions to our productions.
Requirements:
- Education: A diploma or degree in Film Production, Cinematography, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Gaffer or in a similar lighting role in film or video production.
