Data Analysts collect data, such as sales numbers or market research, to help companies make the right decisions. Key role of this position is to generate actionable insights, trends, problem statements, and business value. This person may be required to work with key partners in business and technology teams to create meaningful visualizations and stories to describe data in forms usable by the business.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross functional team members and stakeholders to identify, collect and analyze data to solve data related business challenges
- Analyze datasets to identify trends and uncover insights for potential business improvement and business opportunities
- Set up and maintain tracker on key leading business indicators
- Use graphs, infographics and other methods to help visualize data and present recommendations and findings to stakeholders
- Create useful reports and dashboards to help team members and stakeholders track performance and achieve business goals
- Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of data driven business decisions
- Ensure data is clean and Verified for accuracy and consistency
- Supporting the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements
- Providing expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing
- Create and apply statistical model if necessary to create and evolve insight
Qualifications:
- Graduate Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Business or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence. Proven experience in data analysis, preferably in a similar role.
- Typically has 2-3 years of work experience, preferably in data analytics, database management, statistical analysis, or a related field or an advanced degree with little or no work experience.
- Strong analytical, curious, business-oriented and written/oral communication skills
- Strong data visualization skills using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or others.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Effective communication skills with ability to story tell through data
- Keen learner, open to feedback and self-improvement
- (Preferred) Familiarity with data governance principles and data privacy regulations
- (Preferred) Programming knowledge such as Python and R
- (Preferred) Knowledge in Data Warehousing, ETL/ ELT processes
