Data Center Technician

Working hours: Mon to Fri, 8:30am to 6pm

Position Summary

This position is responsible for physical and technical tasks related to Data Center Infrastructure equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

. Perform physical and technical tasks of intermediate & escalated complexity on Data Center infrastructure equipment including but not limited to servers infrastructure, network infrastructure, or other equipment on the DC floor, without immediate supervision.

. Work alongside Technicians in installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining servers, networking equipment, and cabling (requires moving and racking equipment)

. Fix broken servers (replace hard drives, replace bad sticks of RAM, etc.).

. Use hardware/software tools and workflows (automation) in support of these tasks.

. Strictly follow all policies, processes, and procedures related to the activities and data center environment.

. Perform maintenance on a timely basis with adequate recordkeeping.

. Maintain equipment in running order with minimal downtime.

. Ensure a safe working environment and perform maintenance in a safe manner.

Requirements

. NITEC in IT or technical based qualifications.

. Familiar and comfortable using and working with IT equipment and software.

. Experience in repair of electronics components of computers.

. Scissor lift license would be an added advantage.
