Data Engineering Lead (based in Hong Kong or Shen Zhen)

Overview:

We are seeking an exceptional Data Engineering Lead to be based in our Hong Kong or Shenzhen office, tasked with scaling our data engineering capabilities from the ground up. As the founding member of our Data Engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and expanding our data infrastructure, while leading and growing the team. This is a rare opportunity to establish foundational systems and processes, driving significant impact on the company's growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architecture & Planning: Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of scalable data infrastructure, systems, and services from scratch.
• Team Building & Management: Build and manage a lean data engineering team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership.
• Systems & Processes: Develop and deploy foundational data systems and applications, ensuring robustness and scalability as the company grows.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate data engineering solutions into business processes and decision-making.
• Strategic Growth: Help scale the data engineering efforts to meet the company's needs, focusing on efficiency, performance, and reliability.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
• Proven experience managing a data engineering team of 5 or more people.
• Strong architectural and planning skills, with the ability to design and implement large-scale data systems from the ground up.
• Experience in fast-paced internet companies; familiarity with rapid iteration and scaling.
• Strong interest in the crypto space, though prior experience in crypto is not required.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin, essential for managing cross-functional teams and facilitating communication across global and local operations.
