Job Title: Data Privacy Officer
Our Client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Data Privacy Officer to join their team. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with data privacy laws across multiple jurisdictions within the financial industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing local data privacy regulations and a passion for safeguarding sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of data privacy policies and practices across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations in multiple jurisdictions, including PDPA, PDPL, PIPL, and the Personal Data Ordinance.
- Provide expert guidance on data privacy matters, ensuring that the organization meets all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits to monitor compliance with data protection laws.
- Collaborate with internal teams to manage data privacy risks, implement safeguards, and respond to any data breaches or incidents.
- Act as the primary point of contact for data privacy authorities and regulators.
- Deliver training and awareness programs on data privacy to staff and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working in data privacy within the financial industry.
- Extensive experience in handling local data privacy laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Preferably certified in at least one data privacy certification, such as CIPP A/E, CIPM, or CIPT.
- Strong understanding of global and local data protection regulations and how they apply to the financial sector.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and build awareness of data privacy obligations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven track record of implementing and managing data privacy programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and manage privacy risks.
- Ability to manage complex projects and work in a fast-paced, regulatory-driven environment.
