Job Description
Central to our global commodity processing and trading activities, the Freight Platform has grown to become a major global chartering entity, heavily leveraging data analytics.
Main Responsibilities:
As a Data Scientist at LDC, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team, contributing to the development and enhancement of our vessel tracking ecosystem. This ecosystem integrates diverse data sources, proprietary tracking and forecasting models, and interactive dashboards that empower our commercial team to make informed trading choices on a daily basis.
Vessel Tracking Ecosystem Development:
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of the vessel tracking product.
Collaborate with DT&A teams and other platforms to ensure coordinated development and integration of data sources and features.
Take ownership of critical components, driving continuous improvement.
Forecasting Models and Trading Insights:
Develop advanced forecasting models using machine learning techniques.
Leverage proprietary data sets to enhance accuracy and reliability.
Work closely with traders and research analysts, translating data into actionable insights.
Data Management and Analytics:
Provide high-quality data and analytics support to the Freight platform.
Ensure data availability, reliability, and adherence to best practices.
Design intuitive visualizations and user interfaces for informed decision-making.
Collaboration and Leadership:
Liaise with data scientists, fundamental analysts, and other stakeholders.
Lead development efforts, fostering innovation within a collaborative environment.
Champion creative solutions to enhance our technological setup.
Machine Learning Integration:
Structure proprietary information into in-house data sets.
Apply machine learning models to extract valuable insights.
Optimize trading strategies based on data-driven recommendations.
Experiences:
At least 4-6 years of relevant working experiences.
Strong analytical skills with experience in time series analysis.
Exposure to financial markets or trading environments is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
Other skills (Computer Skills, etc):
Proficiency in Python, machine learning libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn), and data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Plotly).
Languages:
English (Fluent)
Academics:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
