We are helping our client, an established healthcare group, find an experienced IT Database Administrator (Oracle and MS SQL) to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day support of operational tasks, requests, incidents, and changes meeting customer's requirements and SLAs
- Subject Matter Expert on technologies - MS SQL & Oracle and Open-Source Database including database schema designing, assessments, and performance tuning.
- Maintain databases by capacity planning, conducting database backups, monitoring logs, and software database license process.
- Manage technical action reports to resolve software issues.
- Perform software upgrades and patches enhance and build database designs Integrate old systems data with new systems set up and test new database and data handling systems and monitor the database efficiency.
- Install and manage database management systems (DBMS) and provide input to modify procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance.
- Develop/maintain/participate in disaster recovery plans
- Troubleshoot and resolve Database issues.
- Database Working with AWS to keep the database in the latest patch and version.
- SQL Tuning and Optimization of newly developed and existing applications
- Database recovery/duplication / restore by application requests.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in database administration
- Experience with backups, restore, and recovery models
- Knowledge and experience in IT Security - security hardening & automation
- Experience with Windows scripting, DBA-related automation, Database infrastructure, and architecture design
- Experienced in Oracle Enterprise Manager and Oracle PL/SQL
- Experienced in database optimization, performance tuning, backup and restore, and patching table space allocation/management.
- Manage the overall health and status of the database, and database schema, creating triggers and stored procedures.
- Monitor the Oracle alert logs and resolve database-related issues.
- Experience with Oracle product troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Experience in Database HA setup using Oracle RAC/DataGuard, SQL Server Failover Cluster/Always on Availability Groups.
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Experience working with Linux and Windows servers, including Active Directory.
- Experience with security hardening and CIS Compliance.
- Experience with AWS is a must.
