JOB SUMMARY
Constructs dental appliances and prostheses as prescribed by the Dentist.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SPECIFIC
- Prepares study and working models and supportive laboratory procedures such as mounting.
- Constructs customized impression trays.
- Constructs fixed and removal prosthesis and appliances like dentures, crowns, bridges.
- Repairs fractured dentures and appliances.
- Design and mill simple and complex single and multi-unit CAD-CAM restorations.
- Performs minor maintenance of clinic and laboratory equipment.
GENERAL
- Ensure consistent high quality product within stipulated turn over time.
- Adheres to rules in safety, security and fire prevention.
- Maintains personal instruments and equipment in good working order.
- Maintains neatness and cleanliness of the working place and surrounding.
- Adheres to strict safety procedures in the use of cutting equipment, gas flames and toxic chemicals.
- Ensure disinfection procedures are followed before handling impressions and other materials used in the mouth and facial areas.
- Performs any other ad-hoc duties and tasks as and when assigned by Senior Dental Technician.
- Complies with lab and organizational policies.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Graduate of National Institute of Technical Education Certificate (NITEC) in Dental Technology or its equivalent. Highly motivated and driven individuals who have experience in CAD/CAM systems.
