Job Description

As the champion for labour movement (LM), NTUC-ARU is clear that our success is highly dependent on us having the right talent to advance our LM cause. We are constantly looking at effective ways to better manage our workforce given the economic volatility and the ever-changing workforce landscape.

As Deputy Director, Communications & Strategic Engagement (CSE), you will lead two teams to conduct communications analyses to track the effectiveness of NTUC's campaigns and key messages, and to build a network of advocates to support initiatives and programmes for workers. Your role to support the Director of CSE includes planning, budgeting, as well as building up the communications culture in NTUC, with a focus on camaraderie and excellence to drive the LM narrative.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • collaborations with internal stakeholders and government/industry bodies to leverage their resources in order to deepen our communications analyses.
  • the development of an in-house intelligence system that can provide actionable insights to shape NTUC's communications strategy, and produce predictive analyses.
  • relations with external stakeholders and new advocates in order to build an engaged network that can raise awareness of relevant NTUC initiatives in a timely manner.
  • the sustained engagement of external advocates through consistent effort and continuous innovations for maximum outreach and impact.
  • the vision and development plans for CSE, including core skills development for staff and the morale and motivations of the communications community within NTUC.

Requirements:

  • least 7-8 years of relevant experience in communications research and strategic engagement, with at least 5 years of leadership experience.
  • experience in leading research & analysis projects, and demonstrated ability to draw insights for strategy input and execution.
  • in social media engagement work, preferably with direct contacts to a network of individuals and/or groups relevant to younger segments of the population.
  • communication skills and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both internal and external stakeholders across all levels.
  • the drive to innovate and do things differently and better.
  • to serve in a cause-driven organization.
