The Deputy Director, Compensation & Benefits supports the Director in shaping and executing the university's Total Rewards strategy, focusing on developing competitive and sustainable compensation and benefits programs. This role also drives performance management and job evaluation systems to support the University's success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and alignment of the University's Total Rewards strategy with talent and business goals. Provide expert guidance to HR leaders and senior management on compensation, performance management, and Total Rewards strategies.
- Design, implement and manage compensation and benefits intiatives to help the University remain competitive in attracting talents, retain them and are financially sustainable. Monitor market trends and benchmarks to maintain competitive compensation offerings.
- Review compensation structures (base salary, incentives etc) and benefits programs, ensuring alignment with the university's reward philosophy and market competitiveness.
- Lead job evaluation to align roles with market standards and internal structures, ensuring accurate job grading and competitive compensation levels.
- Lead benchmarking initiatives to assess industry trends and market competitiveness, adjusting compensation and benefits policies as necessary to attract and retain top talent.
- Promote a performance-driven culture by aligning performance metrics with compensation structures, rewarding high achievement and talent retention
- Oversee the performance management function and lead the annual ranking and promotion cycles..Develop, implement, and review performance management policies, frameworks, and initiatives to ensure objectivity and consistency across all service schemes
- Develop and execute communication strategies that articulate the value of compensation and benefits programs to HR community. Design training materials and tools to help HR Community understand the performance management, compensation and benefits processes.
Requirements
- Degree with at least 15 years of experience in Compensation & Benefits management, including experience in developing and managing performance management systems, job evaluations, and Total Rewards programs.
- Significant experience in compensation benchmarking, job evaluation, performance management, and the strategic integration of these elements into organizational goals.
- Proven ability to work in a complex, multi-functional, and fast-paced environment, particularly within a large or academic institution.
- Deep knowledge of compensation principles, benefits administration, and performance management strategies.
- Expertise in job evaluation methodologies, job grading systems, and market benchmarking.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Ability to design and implement performance management systems that align with compensation strategies.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams and driving cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and educate internal stakeholders on Total Rewards offerings, performance management processes, and compensation structures.
