Deputy Director, International Partnerships Office

The A.STAR International Partnerships Office (IPO) is responsible for driving and coordinating A.STAR's international partnerships and engagements in support of A.STAR's mission.

Responsibilities

The Deputy Director (DD) will lead a team to deliver the following outcomes:

• Formulate and implement international partnership and engagement strategies, policies, plans and initiatives for geographies covered by the team, as well as with respect to multilateral institutions
• Monitor international developments pertaining to the team's portfolio
• Oversee the management of Singapore's RIE ecosystem-level bilateral grant calls and joint programmes, as needed
• Coordinate and provide support for incoming visits to A.STAR by foreign delegations from, as well as outgoing A.STAR senior leadership visits to, geographies and institutions covered by the team
• Coordinate with and provide inputs to MTI, NRF, MFA and other agencies as needed, in relation to the team's portfolio

Requirements

• Ability to navigate relationships across cultures. International relations experience will be advantageous
• Degree/experience in science and engineering fields will be advantageous
• A strong interest in science and technology
• Interest and ability to coach and mentor junior staff
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collate, analysis and dissect disparate sources of data
• High learning agility and adaptability
• Effective and thoughtful communicator and presenter
• Ability to write well
• Excellent time management and ability to multi-task and prioritise work while being meticulous and organised
