Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide global leadership and direction in acceptance of Hazardous and special cargo
- Ensure timely update to Dangerous Goods (DG)/ Special Cargo policy by keeping abreast of new developments and regulations
- Lead in internal and external coordination to comply with regulations on hazardous and special cargo, internal e-learning programs and industry intelligence.
- Lead in assessment and investigation of incidents and new hazardous and special shipments and provide guidance to subject matter experts
- Supervise and provide support to regional and local offices engaging hazardous and special cargo acceptance
- Provide leadership in digitalization and standardization of procedures by working with global office network
- Enhance cargo screening processes
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in relevant discipline
- At least 15 years in container shipping industry with hands-on experience in Haz-mat and special cargo
- Strong knowledge of IMDG code and container stowage
- Proven track record in managing DG and Special Cargo
- Leadership skills to manage team in Global HQ and working with teams globally
- Strong communication and partnership skills to work across functions and geographies
