Our client, a leading bank in SEA, is seeking an experienced Deputy IT Lead to lead a core banking transformation project. This role will focus on modernizing IT systems, ensuring seamless integration with strategic objectives, and maintaining the highest standards in regulatory compliance and risk management. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of the institution's banking systems while working closely with regional and Head Office teams.
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the Department Head to drive the strategic transformation of core banking systems, aligning with overall business goals.
- Oversee large-scale IT projects, including planning, resource allocation, risk assessment, and user acceptance testing to ensure effective implementation and smooth system transitions.
- Ensure robust support for both legacy and new systems, managing documentation and processes to align with the institution's high standards for reliability and security.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MAS regulatory requirements, adapting policies and practices as needed to meet MAS TRM, Outsourcing Guidelines, and FSM standards.
- Address IT audit findings and develop preventive measures to close gaps, safeguarding the institution's IT infrastructure and data integrity throughout the transition.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in IT or related discipline with at least 8 years of experience in banking/financial IT, ideally with a background in transformation projects or systems management.
- Knowledge of AS400, RPG400, RPGILE, and CL400 is an advantage, along with familiarity with core banking platforms such as Equation, Eximbills, OnesumX, or Calypso.
- Deep understanding of MAS regulatory standards and experience managing compliance in large-scale IT environments.
- Proven track record of leading complex projects and managing cross-functional stakeholders, with a strong ability to multitask and deliver under pressure.
