The Department of Student Development (SD) aspires to provide all SP students with a positive Polytechnic experience through quality learning and development beyond the curriculum.
As part of the Programme & Planning team, the appointee will be required to establish and maintain meaningful and value-added partnerships both internally (with Academic Schools) and externally to support the Holistic Student Development Framework. He/she will analyze data to drive improvements in programmes, processes, and operations, and maintain effective communication channels within the department for stakeholder engagement. Additionally, he/she will manage and mentor student CCA groups within the department. The appointee should also be open to job mobility.
Business Development
- Establish and maintain meaningful and value-added partnerships both internally (Schools & Departments) and externally to foster partnerships that support Student Development.
- Fostering collaboration between Student Development and Schools to develop and enhance CCA programmes ensuring they complement and enrich the overall educational experience.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of CCA initiatives in achieving student learning outcomes, engagement metrics, and other relevant indicators.
- Lead or assist in ad-hoc special projects/institutional events when required.
- Data Strategy
- Collect, analyse, and interpret data and feedback to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Assess department performance and make data-driven recommendations to improve programmes, processes, and operations.
- Lead assessment efforts to measure programme outcomes and impact.
- Monitoring and tracking goals and data for the department.
Communications
- Develop and maintain effective communication channels to keep stakeholders informed of department initiatives, achievements, and opportunities for involvement.
- Oversees the department branding and communication outreach, through developing SD's brand and sections identities, managing social media and Life@SP website, SD brochure and all visual publicity collaterals and materials.
Oversee the management of Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) clubs in SP. This includes:
- Planning and implementing programmes to develop CCA clubs in SP
- Guiding and developing students, managing administrative matters for the clubs.
- At least 5 years relevant working experience, with a strong interest and track record in business development and communications preferably in education or student development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Display a passion for student development and working with youths.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present ideas, proposals and business opportunities to internal and external stakeholders.
- Meticulous with strong operational and administrative skills.
- Demonstrates ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, displays initiative.
Successful applicant will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
