GENERAL PURPOSE

Strategic role working with regional and global sales teams and with Miller Knoll's largest and most strategic customers, with the goals of promoting Miller Knoll as a knowledge leader and influencing furniture sales decisions toward Miller Knoll.

Essential Functions

  • Liaises with Miller Knoll Regional Sales Directors and Global Account Managers and VPs to identify the right clients to engage with.
  • Partners with APMEA sellers, Sales Directors, and Global Account Managers to develop an engagement strategy for strategic customers who will benefit from working with Workplace Consulting, with the goal of moving the account strategy to the next step, broadening and/or deepening relationships with key players in the customer organization.
  • Engagement strategy could include delivering tailored insights to customers and larger audiences (e.g. webinars, round tables, conferences), engaging in deep conversations with customers regarding workplace strategies and trends, engaging in consulting services to inform and communicate the customer's workplace strategy, and interpreting data into meaningful recommendations.
  • Provides full range of expertise and deep-dive consulting to customers in the areas of organizational development/human systems, employee engagement, real estate and facilities, design/work environment solutions, and metrics/trends based on qualitative and quantitative studies of the work environment.
  • When engaged in services, Consultant leads and delivers the complete process, including scoping services, writing proposals, delivering services, invoicing for services as agreed upon, synthesizing data, and writing and delivering reports to customers as appropriate to the suite of services customers have engaged. Partners with interior designers and architects, both inside and outside of Miller Knoll, to apply client data to recommend Miller Knoll product solutions.
  • Maintains ongoing involvement with the Global Research and Insights group to inform future research and Miller Knoll points of view; may partner with GR+I to conduct research and develop HM's POV. Uses secondary research and Consultant's own experience with clients as necessary to tailor content/HM POV to each customer.
  • Delivers HM Research and POV to strategic customers and larger audiences (e.g. webinars, round tables, conferences) through Insight discussions, conversations, and Insight papers.
  • Continually improves Insights and Services to meet evolving customer objectives. May design new customer engagements when a new need is identified. As part of this process, Consultant may work with internal or external resources to design materials needed (slide deck, handouts, booklets, etc), craft the agenda, pilot the process, and train the team in delivering the new services or insight presentations.
  • Monitors market trends / conditions and ensures Miller Knoll is the industry leader on relevant leading edge best practices.
  • May develop marketing materials for the team, including customer profiles, field notes, and written promotion of insight sessions and services.
  • Manages vendor relationships and performance. Identifies, develops relationships, obtains vended services and ensures timely completion and quality.
  • Maintains Salesforce (CRM) records to report team metrics to senior management and sales management.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in interior/architectural/facility design or Organization Development from an accredited program, or related field of study.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in human resources, interior design, space planning, Real Estate, Training, or facility management.
  • Advanced experience with workplace design principles and planning.
  • Experience with commercial furniture systems.
  • Licenses and Certifications
  • Helpful but not required: LEED AP, WELL AP, IIDA, NCIDQ, MCR, Change Management certification from a respected program

  • Proficient knowledge of research, data gathering processes, and design thinking.
  • Thorough knowledge of organizational culture, organizational development, human systems, and employee engagement practices along with the ability to apply this knowledge to the work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, solve problems, and work with all levels in the organization, including executive leadership.
  • Cultivates strong relationships.
  • Demonstrated high level of integrity, business ethics, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated high personal performance standards, the desire and ability to continuously learn with a growth mindset.
  • Proven organizational, planning, and project management skills with demonstrated follow-through and results (holds oneself accountable for results); ability to ensure timely and high quality deliverables.
  • Must be an assertive self-starter with the self-confidence and ability to represent Miller Knoll in a professional manner in order to gain a high level of confidence from a diverse group of customers.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong emphasis on listening, presenting, and facilitating; including proficiency in creating and delivering impactful presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • Technical writing skills helpful, business writing skills essential.
  • Must be financially literate, possess business acumen.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft & Adobe product lines utilized in the work.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
