What you will do:


Serve as the subject matter expert on compliance-related and internal control matters, including but not limited to regulatory issues, licensing, AML-CFT, risk assessment, vendor reviews, and business continuity planning.
Provide practical compliance advice to the Group, covering business activities across different entities and units, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal requirements.
Participate in the inception and implementation of cross-functional solutions/products, ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations and internal standards.
Regularly review, revise, and set up compliance manuals, policies, procedures, frameworks, and systems to stay current with regulatory changes and requirements.
Handle regulatory and licensing requests and inquiries efficiently and effectively, ensuring timely and proper responses.
Own and lead the compliance aspects of KYC/AML/CFT processes, providing secondary validation and approval for customer onboarding.
Assist and advise senior management on compliance matters, including regulatory and licensing issues, AML/CFT, and internal control processes.
Grow and lead compliance team members; provide guidance and mentorship on compliance matters.
Promote compliance awareness through regular training sessions and dialogue with employees.
Perform additional assignments as required to support the compliance function.

Requirements

What we are looking for:


10+ years of compliance experience in the financial services industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Experience in fintech, digital lending, and payments, particularly within Southeast Asia.
Solid knowledge of Asean regulations, market practices, and financial products
In-depth knowledge of the regulatory landscape for financial services and fintech in Southeast Asia, including but not limited to AML, KYC, data privacy, and consumer protection regulations.
Experience liaising with regulatory bodies and managing regulatory inspections and audits.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey complex regulatory requirements to diverse audiences.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in building and developing high-performing compliance teams.
High ethical standards and integrity; Strong attention to details and organisational skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Masters degree or relevant certification (e.g., CAMS) is preferred.
