Job Description:
- Assume accountability for Environment, Health, Safety (EHS), performance, and compliance by actively engaging in and advocating for the Company's EHS Program. Ensure that compliance objectives and team goals are met in accordance with established requirements.
- Provide expert counsel and technical direction for EHS programs and initiatives. Serve as the primary accountable individual for the implementation and ongoing effectiveness of the EHS management system.
- Identify and cultivate talent across all levels of the organization, fostering professional growth and development.
- Liaise with corporate, division, plant, and external community organizations and agencies on EHS matters and strategic initiatives. Act as the principal EHS point of contact.
- Develop solutions that are progressive, innovative, compliant, and scalable, demonstrating strong project and portfolio management capabilities while ensuring prompt, disciplined decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and the achievement of sustainable outcomes across EHS projects, assessments, and resulting action plans. Ensure that identified actions are completed within the established timelines.
- Review and/or approve regulatory permits, inspection results, and audit findings to ensure proper submission, impact assessment, and follow-up actions. Oversee the development of solutions and provide status updates to executive management.
- Anticipate, recognize, and respond to evolving internal and external trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes, evaluating their potential impact on the company and integrating this information into strategic decision-making processes.
- Facilitate leadership team cohesion, ensure effective communication, and promote the sharing of best practices among peers and management. Act as a key conduit of information between operational facilities and EHS management, taking ownership of decisions and their outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or relevant field.
- Possesses direct experience in leading multiple geographically dispersed sites, matrixed functions, or manufacturing operations within the pharmaceutical, chemical, or similar industries.
- Familiar in interpreting and applying regulatory frameworks, including OSHA, OHSAS 18000, EPA, ISO, NFPA, and GMP standards.
- Willingness to travel internationally, up to 25% of the time.
