Part B: Responsibilities and Duties
- Work cross functionally, and lead product development teams to execute new products, brands, blends solutions etc.
- Overall, in-charge for product development (end to end) activities including branding concept development, feasibility analysis, scope definition, cost estimating, specification and drawing development, prototype evaluation, product risk/hazard review, vendor evaluation, resource allocation, development of manufacturing options, transition and pre-commercialization testing, and implementation of blends.
- Provide technical product knowledge and support new blends, processes, vendors, and trade suppliers to product completion and document / research reports etc.
- Drive continuous process improvement through the ability to recognize unnecessary complexities and process gaps, and proactively drive implementation of strategies to execute effective solutions.
- Communicate with business units in identify objectives, requirements and formulate options
- Monitor and oversee timelines for all projects by proper documenting and maintaining records on progression stages, phases of projects and their timeline to completion and delivering of finished products
- Provides leadership and strategic direction to, research and technology, design/development and product support teams.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship on technology roadmap and product strategies
- Contribute and implement R&D programs, policies, and procedures required to support profitable growth and innovation programs.
- Partner closely with internal and external stakeholders (regulatory, IP, operations, marketing, sales, customers, vendors etc.) to ensure development programs meet regulatory and customer requirements.
- Lead and monitor department, product, and technology projects.
- Provide updates to senior management team of design/development progress and issues.
- Develop department budget estimates for team headcount, discretionary and consultants.
- Resource the delivery of the Innovation and Sustaining portfolios aligned with Company strategy and assure the technical robustness of that work product.
- Lead and execute continuous improvement in department processes and procedures to increase organizational performance and velocity of development while assuring products of the highest performance and quality standards.
- Drive a culture of commitments and technical excellence across all R&D & innovation activities.
- Partner and build relationships with cross functional leaders.
- Participate in and/or assign appropriate resources for business development activities.
- Demonstrate continuous improvement mindset with overview and analytical capabilities.
- Any other ad-hoc tasks by Senior Management/Representative in C-Suite / CEO
Part C: Qualifications & Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills, Knowledge, Etc)
- Master/Bachelor's Degree in Chemical/Industrial, Supply network, Planning/ Engineer, or scientifically degreed equivalent.
- At least 10 years of experience in the relevant industry, background in process/business/engineering or product/process development/Projects Management/Life Science industry within product development
- Knowledge across the whole process of developing products from the concept phase through development
- Beneficial to understand the roles of Marketing, brands, regulatory approval, production, and launch/business understanding within the entire product lifecycle value chain
- Knowledge within the medical device industry inclusive quality requirements and regulatory requirements
- Knowledge within Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
Part D: Specific Requirements (Mandatory for the role) (not the same with Part C)
- Demonstrates proven track record of management, Technical, Product and Process Expertise, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge in tobacco from sensory to packaging/product quality, inventory, blending & processing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, knowledge as end user in ERP/SAP and ability to learn application specific software for Product Data Management (PDM). GMP etc is a plus.
- Able to drive collaborative efforts cross-functionally with excellent project management, time management, team collaboration, and organizational skills
- Able to work and thrive in an environment of uncertainty and quickly adapt to change
- Ability to travel & relocate where needed
- Prior experience with consumer product development, work in a regulated environment (tobacco)
- Proven Management at similar managerial trade production experience in Multiple Project Management with strong planning, organization, and communication skills.
- Excellent level of liaison skills and ability to meet deadlines and targets.
- Good team-work skills actively involve colleagues across the business, builds the benefits of collaborative working.
- High sense of proactivity, an Innovative thinker, ability to provides speedy solutions and hands on.
- Ambitious and results oriented.
- Good communicator across organizational levels, functions, and companies.
