Job Description

As a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Manager, you will be a thought leader and translate DEI strategies into practical and actionable initiatives across the Asia Pacific region. You are both a strategic thinker and program manager, doing the heavy lifting to implement policies and develop cross-cultural competencies. This is a pivotal role in identifying internal and external opportunities to position Sephora as the world's most beautiful retailer - beloved for the joy, inclusion and inspiration we bring to our customers, employees and brand partners.

In this role we expect you to

Turn Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies into action

  • Build and drive country and region-specific DEI action plans, advised by localised demographic and inclusion data, in partnership with regional Purpose Lead and country GMs.
  • Leverage external and internal local DEI data and insights to identify barriers to adoption, recommend action planning, ensure local relevancy, and raise awareness about trends.
  • Consult, coach and work with the APAC leadership team, inclusion / business / DEI groups, and other HR colleagues within the region to build an inclusive and diverse culture and workforce while supporting the hiring, developing, and retaining of diverse talent.
  • Track DEI progress to ensure meaningful and measurable progress while driving accountability, transparency and commitment to improving diversity, equity, and inclusion in Sephora.

Foster an inclusive Sephora community

  • Collaborate and train HR teams to ensure DEI is embedded in all areas of the employee experience by supporting and promoting DEI processes across the entire employee life cycle (Talent Attraction, Recruitment, Onboarding, Development, Retention, Exit & Advocacy).
  • Partner with Recruiting to ensure that our recruiters (external agencies), hiring managers, and interviewers are best equipped to find diverse talent and set interviewers up for success in the hiring process.
  • Continue to drive adoption of our internal learning experiences (Unconscious Bias, Allyship, etc.) within Asia, RHQ and countries.
  • Act as a subject matter advisor to integrate DEI's content across Sephora's campaigns and programmes by ensuring the usage of inclusive language in all Sephora communications platforms including but not limited to official websites, social media pages, job descriptions and internal documents. Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders to modify discriminatory content where necessary.
  • Partner our DEI committee to help bring our diversity initiatives to fruition.

Stay in the know and adopt best DEI practices

  • Partner / identify / connect with like-minded ambassadors / advocates that supports our DEI ambitions.
  • Collaborate with our Legal teams to ensure compliance with local country regulations on diversity and equity policies.
  • Design company policies that reinforce diversity in the workplace, and address all kinds of harassment and protect minority groups.
  • Partner with Corporate Communications team to create and deploy a cohesive internal and external narrative, ensuring consistency across the employee life cycle and industry.

We would love to hear from you if you have...

  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Human Resources, Social Impact, DE&I or other relevant areas with at least 3 years of proven experience in driving DEI strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, social science or equivalent fields.
  • Hands-on experience designing company policies around anti-discrimination and equal employer opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders from diverse background and seniority levels.
  • Excellent understanding of DEI program and experience leading programs and relationships, with robust vocabulary related to diversity, equity, inclusion, social impact, and culture.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English. Proficiency in Mandarin would be an advantage to work with China-based stakeholders.
  • Experience working in an intersectional and collaborative manner to develop diversity across multiple global networks of employees.
