Job Overview:
The Draftsman is responsible for producing detailed drawings and plans for construction and formwork designs. This role involves collaborating with architects, engineers, and project managers to interpret design concepts and create accurate technical drawings that serve as the blueprint for the project.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create detailed technical drawings and plans based on specifications and calculations provided by architects and engineers.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce accurate and detailed 2D and 3D drawings.
- Prepare layouts, sketches, and diagrams to represent the structure, machinery, or systems being developed.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to understand project requirements and design concepts.
- Revise drawings based on feedback and ensure that all designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Coordinate with other draftsmen and team members to ensure consistency and accuracy in drawings.
- Produce and update drawing sets as required during different project phases.
- Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to design standards.
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues in the drawings.
- Ensure that all drawings meet the required quality and safety standards
Job Requirements:
- Associate's degree or diploma in Drafting, CAD, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in CAD software or drafting techniques is highly desirable.
- Proven experience as a Draftsman or Drafter, preferably within the construction, architectural, or engineering industries.
- Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla or similar tools.
