This pivotal role in Avantor's Singapore operations reports directly to the Head of EHSS&S for the AMEA region. The individual in this position will lead all EHSS&S activities at manufacturing chemical sites, distribution centres, and service operations in Singapore. This role is essential for driving continuous improvement and fostering a positive culture within the facility.
The incumbent will be vital in developing the Safety Management System and establishing solid relationships with the business and other resource groups. The incumbent will also play a key role in maintaining EHS management systems that support establishing world-class EHSS&S operations and facilities.
Job Description:
- Develop, implement and maintain all EHS programs, policies and procedures.
- Organise & conduct CERT audit and other emergency response relevant drills.
- Interpret applicable Legal, Singapore Standards, Code of Practice, and other requirements, implement them and provide directions for compliance.
- Manage all EHS incident and non-conformance investigations and track corrective and preventive actions to closure.
- Organise risk assessments and site inspections, work with external industrial hygiene, and implement or direct risk reduction and control measures.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with EHS regulations.
- Conducted and organised EHS audits, training, meetings, and promotional programs to increase employee awareness and knowledge.
- Basic awareness of Safety Case development and implementation for process safety management, primarily on dangerous goods warehouse, laboratory and combustible dust.
- Liaise with local Regulatory Affairs, authorities, or third-party consultants for all EHS issues and obtain or renew EHS licenses and certificates (ISO45001, ISO14001, BizSafe Star).
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Safety, Health and Environmental Management or any related discipline
- At least three years of working experience in the chemical manufacturing industry and handling safety responsibilities within the EHS department.
- Experience with ISO14001/ SS651(ISO45001) management systems.
- Well-versed with Microsoft Office
