PowerX is a 12-months traineeship programme designed to enable and create Deep Tech career opportunities for working professionals, combining bespoke training and industry experience.
We value the importance of having a robust engineering team that would serve as a key pillar for sustained commercial success. To that end, we are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join us on this journey. In this role, you will be part of our fast-growing team and will take ownership of your role from the get-go. You will be working on the electrical interfaces of our robot from the design and development phase all the way to manufacturing. You will be developing these solutions alongside our clinical KOLs to produce and test the parts and subsystems that will eventually be integrated into the robotic system. Throughout the process, you will also be involved in the verification and validation testing phase such as producing testers, generating test protocols and reports. Your role will require you to work in close tandem with our external partners and suppliers.
Your responsibilities shall include the following:
- Involved in the establishment of the robotic system's design requirements according to users needs.
- Design and develop hardware system architecture and electrical systems based on set requirements.
- Generate schematics and electrical diagrams following respective standards and best practices.
- Source, evaluate and troubleshoot components, PCBAs, wire harnesses and subsystems.
- Assist in developing test protocols and reports to verify various subsystems and the main system.
- Involved in developing testers and test tools for verification tests.
- Support the team with electrical safety and EMC testing.
- Take part in the design control and risk management documentation generation tasks.
- Work with the team to optimize the system's cost, manufacturability, quality, and reliability.
- Contribute and watch your ideas materialize into the fast-paced iterations of our system to constantly strive to meet the end users needs.
Your Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related.
- At least 3 years experience in Electrical, Embedded Systems, Robotic Engineering, or related fields.
- Skilled in PCB design software such as Altium Designer or other similar tools.
- Experience in circuit design with ARM MCUs is essential.
- Hands-on experience with embedded communication protocols such as UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, TCP.
- Knowledge of embedded platforms such as MCUs (STM32), DSP, FPGA will be advantageous.
- Adept at utilizing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
- Hands-on experience with soldering equipment and crimpers preferred.
- Knowledge of C/C++ and Linux will be an advantage.
- Understanding of standards such as IEC 60601-1, 60601-1-2 and 62304 will be a plus.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
