PLC programmers are responsible for programming assembly lines, robotic devices, or other manufacturing processes using programmable logic controllers (PLC). This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, logical thinker who enjoys working with different machines in combination with computers. PLC programmers work full time but experience a moderate amount of travel and activity in the workplace, such as supervising the installation of their programs and machinery.
The daily responsibility involvement includes of the following
- Design and perform detailed designing for machine electrical control systems
- Write Programmable Logic Control (PLC) program for automatic machine control & processes.
- Develop process specific application function librabries.
- PLC application programming and build new function library.
- Ability to utilize, debug, design and install engineering software.
- To collaborate and work together with Design Team (comprising of both mechanical & electrical membes) for the design concept arising from new project proposal and confirmed projects
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering OR its equivalents
- Good knowledge of PLC and circuit design
- Demonsrated ability to visualize projects, develop and produce design from concept through completion.
- Sound knowledge of process instrumentation, PLC programs such as Delta, Mitsubishi, Matsushita, Omron PLC, Direct Logic, Siemens.
- RS422, RS485, Modbus TCP and other industrial interface protocol.
- Knowledgeable of VB, VC, C# will be considered as an added advantage
Plus
- Programming experiece in C++, Python, SQL or similar language.
- Industrial electrical panel design.
- HMI/SCADA programming (Allen-Bradley, Ignition or similar).
