JR63741 Engineer - Facilities Electrical
As the Facilities Electrical Engineer, you will spearhead engineering and maintenance efforts for on-site electrical equipment and systems. With guidance from the Facilities organization, you will work towards achieving the goals of the facilities department, site, corporate facilities, and the company as a whole.
- Ensure Compliance: Adhere to environmental safety policies, standard operating procedures, and quality standards. Perform risk assessments and maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Safety First: Report and follow up on work-related injuries and near misses. Actively participate in safety incident investigations and attend required safety training and committee meetings.
- Continuous Learning: Complete classroom, computer-based, and on-the-job training to acquire necessary skills within the stipulated timeframe.
- Technical Expertise: Gain experience in maintaining and commissioning electrical systems up to 230kV, including emergency generators, Rotary UPS, and power quality equipment.
- Protection Systems: Develop sound knowledge in protection relays, system design, and verification of protection schemes for substations up to 230kV.
- System Studies: Conduct electrical system and arc flash studies for existing systems and expansion projects.
- Operational Support: Provide support for operational issues and root cause analysis using standard problem-solving techniques.
- Design Reviews: Support design reviews for base build systems, ensuring specifications are met and cost reduction improvements are identified.
- Capacity Analysis: Review and support capacity analysis for electrical systems.
- Risk Management: Identify and evaluate risks for electrical systems, proposing and implementing improvements.
- Project Management: Review and advise on scope, schedule, and cost estimates for infrastructure additions or modifications. Monitor progress and provide engineering and design support during construction.
- System Optimization: Analyze system designs to identify improvements for better performance, efficiency gains, reduced maintenance, and cost savings.
- Failure Analysis: Conduct risk and failure mode and effects analysis to eliminate single points of failure and mitigate risks.
- Benchmarking: Benchmark best practices within and outside Micron sites for facilities buildings and systems.
- Team Development: Guide, coach, and certify the electrical team through classroom and site training.
- Documentation: Lead documentation efforts for standard operating procedures, risk assessments, energy isolation procedures, and pre-task plans.
- Maintenance Leadership: Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities, reallocating resources as needed.
- Troubleshooting: Lead troubleshooting efforts and address abnormalities in support of operations, ensuring timely containment actions.
- Root Cause Analysis: Participate in root cause identification for equipment and system abnormalities, conduct post-incident reviews, and execute corrective and preventive actions.
- Contract Management: Manage outsourced service providers to ensure work activities align with service agreements and performance indicators.
- Expense Management: Manage operational expenses and electricity forecasts.
- Record Keeping: Maintain maintenance records for equipment and systems to ensure traceability.
- Continuous Improvement: Review maintenance performance and recommend improvements through new methods, procedures, intervals, and spare parts.
- Capacity Planning: Provide engineering support for system capacity expansion and enhancement projects, ensuring alignment with production plans.
- Design Verification: Evaluate and verify engineering designs and solutions meet specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements for new installations and expansions.
- Project Evaluation: Provide cost, schedule, and cash flow estimates for new installations and expansions.
- Site Verification: Conduct site verifications at critical milestones during construction phases.
- Startup Support: Support startup testing and commissioning of new equipment and systems, ensuring proper integration with other systems and minimizing risks.
- SMART Systems: Drive the implementation of SMART power systems, early detection, and team efficiency improvements.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in High, Medium, and Low Voltage Electrical Systems Design Maintenance and Operations, Semiconductor, and/or Facilities related Industry.
- Ability to prioritize and schedule workload and work on multiple tasks concurrently.
- Good organizational skills and Service attitude.
- Excellent communication skills and good team working skills, English Required.
- Self-motivated worker.
- Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing and facilities systems.
