Kinexcs is an AI-driven digital health platform and wearables company with a mission to enable and empower people for mobility and a better quality of life. It is focused on reducing the burden of musculoskeletal conditions, which affects about 25% of the world's population. Their 1st product, KIMIA Recover, a continuous monitoring device for the knee joint, has obtained FDA Approval, CE marking and HSA approval, and booked revenues from large implant companies and hospitals. It has recently won the Johnson and Johnson Quickfire Challenge Award, Innomatch grant by the Temasek Foundation (one of the 6 among 256 companies across 32 countries) and is currently deployed in some of the largest public hospitals in Singapore. KIMIA Recover is a comprehensive recovery management solution providing reductions in the number of hospital visits and complications. The product was also the National Winner and International Top 20 of the prestigious James Dyson Award 2020 and has gained traction with major public hospitals and orthopedic clinics.

Their digital therapy platform, consisting of KIMIA Assess and KIMIA PT products, uses artificial intelligence technology for digital MSK assessment and therapy. This platform is capable of providing pre-consultation assessments and real-time exercise guidance and feedback to musculoskeletal patients and is being adopted by some of the largest private healthcare providers in the region, along with large corporate players.

Job Description

As a member of our leadership team, your goal will be to help build a world-class engineering organization that delivers high quality and velocity according to the priorities across all products. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams across products that deliver major features, through inception, design, implementation and launch. You will work closely with senior management within the company to provide a voice for the engineering team in strategic development and to continue improving our process and strengthening our culture.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of Kinexcs products by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product, marketing, customer success, business development and senior management, prioritizing based on the business needs.
  • You will be required to make critical technical proposals and justify them accordingly to senior management, shareholders, clinical stakeholders, etc. This will include the estimation of resources, timelines and budgets for new initiatives.
  • You will be responsible for the overall operation of software development in the company, managing diverse teams both remotely and physically, and taking ownership of all deliveries of their output.
  • You will be required to monitor and evaluate Kinexcs architecture and use of technologies regularly to ensure software systems are robust, scalable, available and secure, for all users of its products.
  • You will build and manage teams of software engineers, QA and UI designers and be fully responsible for their performance and delivery: regularly reviewing their work, providing coaching, resolving conflicts unblocking dependencies, etc.
  • You will oversee the complete employment phases of all engineers under your charge from interviewing, hiring, onboarding, evaluating performance and promotion.
  • You will be responsible for instilling a culture of operational excellence, building processes and tools to maximise efficiency and overall output of the team. You will also define and track operating metrics for teams under your charge and establish plans to improve them.
  • You will be required to put together POCs using bleeding-edge technology (Gen AI, Blockchain, 5G) to stay relevant to advancements in the industry.
  • You will implement new and improve on old engineering processes and help evolve them to keep up with the growing team, product features, and market traction.

Requirements

  • MS/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related engineering field
  • 7+ years experience in high-performing software engineering organizations
  • A strong background of data privacy and security in highly regulated industries and equipped with the know-how to turn regulatory requirements into functional requirements and processes that engineering teams can implement and execute.
  • At least 1-2 years of engineering management experience, leading teams of >4 engineers building scalable enterprise-class customer-facing products.
  • 2+ years leading full-stack teams building scalable mobile and cloud applications, working with cross-functional counterparts to build enterprise-class customer-facing products.

You have some experience working in startups or fast-paced teams, where the success and failure of the greater enterprise rested on your shoulders

You have direct experience developing digital products and/or hardware in medical/healthcare fields or other highly regulated industries, with high availability and high traffic with users from various geographies.

You possess the expertise you can occasionally lend to the broader team in the form of technical leadership and have the results to show for it.

You are regularly involved in stakeholder management internally and externally with key accounts.
