About the team
Airwallex is establishing a state-of-the-art lending platform and building a suite of related credit products which include customer facing credit cards.
The Lending Engineering Manager is a high-impact, high-ownership role working closely with our product & engineering teams to define & execute our lending engineering & product strategy to unlock new markets & customer segments. The Lending engineering & product team is based in Singapore and has full global ownership.
2024 presents a unique greenfield opportunity to build next generation lending capability for our embedded finance API customers as well as scaling out our credit products to new markets.

This role is based in Singapore.
Responsibilities:
Design and execute the lending teams product & engineering strategy in partnership with the organizations senior technical & business leaders.
Lead a team of high performing engineers and assist in new hiring. Motivate and mentor team members to grow in their roles.
Lead the design, implementation & delivery across our lending product suite initially focused on launching and scaling up our credit cards product into new markets.
Collaborate with a cross-functional team of Product Designers & Product Managers to deliver compelling user-facing products.
Own the technical strategy across the lending domain.
Who you are
We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.
Minimum qualifications:
Experience working in the lending or credit domain
A clear focus on measurable customer outcomes
Strong communication and collaboration skills
8+ years of software engineering experience in modern engineering practices focused on large scale, highly available distributed systems
2+ years of experience managing a team of high performing engineers
Hands-on experience working on event-driven, distributed systems architectures
Experience implementing and uplifting quality standards & processes
Cloud experience; GCP (preferred) or AWS (EC2, RDS, ELB, CloudFront, etc.) with docker and Kubernetes
