Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced English/Chinese Translator cum Personal Assistant to support our senior management team. This role requires someone who is proficient in both languages and can provide high-quality translation services for documents, meetings, and communications. Additionally, the ideal candidate will handle administrative and organizational tasks as a personal assistant, ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Translation and Interpretation:
- Translate technical documents, emails, and reports from English to Chinese and vice versa, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Provide real-time interpretation during meetings, conference calls, and presentations between English-speaking and Chinese-speaking teams and clients.
- Ensure culturally sensitive and appropriate translations in all business contexts.
Personal Assistant Duties:
- Manage the daily schedule and appointments of senior management.
- Handle travel arrangements, including flights, accommodations, and transportation, both locally and internationally.
- Prepare and organize materials for meetings, including agendas, presentations, and follow-up actions.
- Assist in communication with key stakeholders, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Handle general administrative tasks, such as filing, correspondence, and record-keeping.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Fluency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin) is essential, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.This is to facilitate the translation needs for our senior management.
- At least 2-3 years of experience as a translator, preferably in a technical or corporate setting.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other administrative tools.
- Experience in the fire security or safety industry is a plus but not required.
