The English Editing Department works to ensure that all of MDPIs manuscripts are published with clarity, consistency, and grammatical accuracy.
We are looking for meticulous and dedicated individuals with a strong grasp of the English language and the nuances of academic writing to support scholars publishing their research. English Editors support academic research by editing the language of peer-reviewed papers to a publication-ready standard.
- This is a full-time, in-office, entry-level position based in Singapore. Successful applicants undergo a probation period in which in-house training is provided by an experienced editor, after which there are opportunities to diversify the role and gain expertise in new areas.
· Edit scholarly articles submitted to MDPI journals to a publication-ready standard.
· Apply knowledge of the English language and the context of the manuscript to make the English clear, consistent, and grammatically correct, communicating the authors message without changing their voice unnecessarily.
· Ensure manuscripts align with MDPIs house rules.
· Meet tight deadlines and hit targets with a high degree of consistency.
· Take on additional roles, such as training colleagues within and outside of the department and editing corporate material.
· Collaborate with members of Editorial and Production teams.
Essential criteria:
- A bachelors degree in any subject.
Expert knowledge of the English language.- Experience in editing, translating, or publishing.
Excellent time management and organisation skills.
- High attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and as part of an international team.- Right to work in Singapore.
Desirable skills and experience:- Professional experience in academic research, editing, or publishing.
A masters, PhD, or equivalent qualification.
Experience working in an office environment.

Flexible Working Times- Employees can apply for different working hours after probation (8 am to 5 pm, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, or 9 am to 6 pm).
