Job Title: Environmental Engineer
Reports to: Manager Engineering & Operations
Job Purpose
Responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, implementing sustainable practices, and mitigating environmental risks associated with operations.

Highest level of confidentiality and access to information which unauthorized disclosure could be expected to have a severe or catastrophic adverse effect on organizational operations, organizational assets, or individuals.
Key Accountabilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
- Develops and implements environmental compliance strategies and programs.
- Conducts environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for proposed projects and operations.
- Handle the communication between the Ministry of Energy and the company's environmental and laboratory department. Also, coordinates with the Governments authorities and outside organizations and prepares technical information requested by them or requested by ELD/KJO to explain environmental issues to outside sources.
- Plans the technical aspects of the department's environmental activities, including solutions to specific pollution problems or troubles, based on and within his environmental discipline.
- Surveys and collects updated technique, technology and international practices and standards relevant to the department activities as well as the Governmental and international regulations.
- Drafts responses to technical inquiry or request made by the Government authorities and other organizations related to environmental issues and cooperates with Saudi Aramco for environment protection and pollution control.
- Evaluates potential environmental risks and provides recommendations for risk mitigation.
- Coordinates hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal processes in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinates waste reduction, recycling, and sustainability initiatives.
- Monitors all emissions including the flaring of gas in compliance with the requirement set by the Government. Also assesses water and air quality at organization's facilities and project sites.
- Develops and implements strategies to reduce emissions and minimize environmental impacts.
- Conducts environmental audits and inspections to identify non-compliance issues and corrective actions.
- Ensures timely resolution of identified issues.
- Prepares and submits required environmental reports to regulatory agencies.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date environmental records.
- Promotes sustainability initiatives within the organization, including energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into business practices.
- Develops and updates environmental emergency response plans.
- Participates in emergency response drills and exercises.
- Strictly follows established environmental, health, safety and quality policies and procedures in order to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude.
- Undertakes accountabilities in the operational excellence process as set out in the schedule of responsibilities.
- Contributes to the processes of continuous improvement for the area assigned.
- Performs any other relevant task as directed by Manager Engineering & Operations.
Qualifications

Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations and/or Experience
7 to 20 years related experience, covering Environmental Engineering operations preferably in oil & gas sector organization.
Academic background includes a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as environmental discipline or chemical engineering.
