Job Overview:
- The ESG Manager will lead the company's sustainability initiatives, driving the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies within the consumer electronics manufacturing industry. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with sustainability standards, enhancing long-term value, and promoting responsible corporate practices. The ESG Manager will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to advance sustainability goals, uphold corporate governance, and ensure transparency in ESG reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental Responsibility (Sustainability Focus):
- Sustainability Strategy Development: Assess the company's environmental footprint, focusing on areas such as resource consumption, waste management, energy efficiency, and carbon emissions. Develop and implement sustainable practices aimed at minimizing the company's environmental impact.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local and international environmental regulations. Oversee environmental audits and prepare reports for compliance purposes.
- Sustainable Projects Leadership: Spearhead projects that drive the transition to green energy, carbon reduction, and circular economy practices, fostering sustainability throughout the product lifecycle and business operations.
Social Responsibility:
- Employee Wellbeing: Champion the development and implementation of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive workplace.
- Community Engagement: Lead community outreach efforts and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives to positively impact local communities through volunteering, philanthropic efforts, and social investments.
- Supply Chain Accountability: Monitor and enforce social responsibility practices within the supply chain, ensuring suppliers meet labor standards, health and safety regulations, and other social criteria.
Corporate Governance:
- Governance and Ethical Standards: Ensure all corporate governance practices align with legal, ethical, and best practice standards. Advocate for strong governance frameworks that promote accountability and transparency.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess ESG-related risks, implementing effective mitigation strategies to protect the company's reputation and financial health.
- ESG Reporting: Prepare comprehensive ESG reports and communicate key sustainability metrics to internal stakeholders, investors, and regulatory bodies, ensuring transparency and accountability in performance.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Foster partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, investors, and other stakeholders to support and enhance ESG efforts.
- ESG Ratings and Performance: Monitor and enhance the company's ESG ratings across various platforms, positioning the company as a sustainable investment choice for socially responsible investors.
- Market Trends and Policy Monitoring: Keep abreast of global ESG trends and regulatory changes, adjusting corporate strategies as necessary to ensure ongoing compliance and leadership in the field.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Sustainability Studies, Business Administration (with a sustainability focus), Public Policy, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years in ESG management, particularly within the consumer electronics manufacturing industry, and a deep understanding of ESG frameworks and standards.
- Proven expertise in corporate governance and social responsibility initiatives.
- Strong communication, coordination, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Previous experience in project or corporate management is highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel frequently and work abroad in China and Vietnam for at least 10 months per year, including annual round-trip tickets to Singapore and separate living accommodations.
