Job Overview:
The Association Industry Development Executive is responsible for driving industry growth and development initiatives that align with the association's mission and strategic goals. This role involves collaborating with industry stakeholders, government bodies, and members to identify and implement programmes that support industry advancement, professional development, and best practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industry relations, sponsorship sales, excellent project management skills, and the ability to influence and lead industry development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Industry Development & Advocacy:Identify industry trends, challenges, and opportunities to develop strategies that advance the association's role as a key industry driver.
Collaborate with industry stakeholders, government agencies, and relevant bodies to influence policy and advocate for favorable regulations that benefit members and the broader industry.
Support the development of industry standards, best practices, and certification programs.
Assist in the preparation of position papers, policy recommendations, and advocacy campaigns.
- Strategic Initiatives & Program Management:Plan, manage, and execute industry development projects that support the growth of the industry and association members.
Oversee the design and delivery of professional development programs, workshops, and industry seminars aimed at enhancing members skills and knowledge.
Identify and manage partnerships with external organizations, industry bodies, educational institutions, and training providers to enhance the association's offerings.
Monitor the success of industry initiatives and measure their impact through data collection, surveys, and reporting.
- Member Engagement & Growth:Engage with members to understand their needs, challenges, and priorities, and develop tailored programs that address industry gaps.
Facilitate networking opportunities and collaboration among members, partners, and stakeholders to foster knowledge exchange and best practices.
Develop and execute membership engagement strategies that drive growth and improve member retention within the industry.
- Event & Conference Support:Assist in planning and delivering key industry events, including conferences, industry forums, trade shows, and networking sessions.
Work closely with the events team to ensure industry-related events align with strategic objectives and attract high participation from industry leaders.
Identify and invite key speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors for industry events, ensuring relevance and impact.
- Sponsorship Sales: Reach out to potential sponsors for the programmes, events and other revenue generating projects..
- Stakeholder Relationship Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, including government agencies, trade associations, educational institutions, and corporate partners.
Serve as a liaison between the association and external bodies, ensuring clear communication and alignment on shared objectives.
Represent the association at industry events, meetings, and forums, presenting a strong, professional image.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in industry development, association management, or a related role preferred.
- Proven experience in managing strategic projects and driving industry-related programs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels and potential sponsors.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with industry bodies, government agencies, and members.
- Strong research and analytical skills to identify industry trends and translate them into actionable strategies.
- Experience in event planning or project management is advantageous.
