Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) provides a secure network for issuing partners and millions of merchants to facilitate Card payments. We offer comprehensive payment processing options to online, storefront and business-to-business merchants.

American Express direct relationship with Card Members and merchants creates a unique closed loop network that enables us to provide valuable business insights, marketing information and expertise to help merchants drive revenue and grow their business volumes.

How will you make an impact in this role

The Merchant Acquisition Manager of Small Merchant Acquisition is responsible for the acquisition of new merchant accounts for American Express acceptance. This involves all aspects of acquisition, account activation and development of new merchant accounts in the Singapore market. The Merchant Acquisition Manager will work closely with the Senior Manager to execute Small Merchant Acquisition Strategies. This role will have a particular focus on driving merchant activations across premium locations that matter most to our cardmembers.

Principal Responsibilities

Top priority in meeting/exceeding individual active merchant monthly target

Ensure over 50% of signings are located in pre-assigned premium malls and hotspot locations

Achieve activation rates above 90% and ensure attrition levels are managed to a minimum

Monitor and maintain the monthly onboarding rejection rate below 5%

Ensure the seamless execution of the merchant onboarding process to improve productivity

Strict adherence to the ROE, AML Grid, GMAP and all related on-boarding processes set forth by the business

Enhance the use of CRM capabilities such as Merchant force and MIRA reporting tools to provide better visibility into the sales pipeline, wins and target achievements

Support the Senior Manager and Team Lead in all data reports required by the business

Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years experience in corporate/business sales with a proven track record in the Global Merchant Network Services Team

A self-driven team player with excellent presentation and negotiation skills, capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines

Possess strong business acumen, strategic thinking and a deep understanding of the merchant business

Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CRM applications, preferably, Merchant Force
