Our client is seeking a Director of Mission-Critical Operations (Based in Kuala Lumpur) to lead the management and maintenance of essential data center infrastructure in Kuala Lumpur and future sites in the region. This role is vital for ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance across all critical systems. The ideal candidate will focus on driving operational excellence, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the reliability of infrastructure to support uninterrupted business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the daily operations of mission-critical infrastructure across multiple data center locations in Kuala Lumpur.
- Ensure continuous operational uptime and integrity of all systems, including power and cooling.
- Develop and implement effective preventive and corrective maintenance programs to minimize disruptions.
- Supervise existing data center facilities and facilitate readiness for new site developments.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure new facilities meet operational and performance standards.
- Enhance operational efficiency across all managed sites.
- Negotiate service contracts and manage vendor performance to meet established service level agreements (SLAs).
- Build and maintain relationships with third-party vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery at competitive rates.
- Create and manage operational budgets for the data centers under your oversight.
- Monitor and optimize spending while ensuring the reliability and performance of critical systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 8-10 years of experience in mission-critical facility operations
- Strong expertise in managing critical data center infrastructure, including electrical and mechanical systems; however, candidates without M&E experience will also be considered for an asset management role.
- Proven ability to lead multiple facilities and drive operational improvements.
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards for critical facilities.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and vendor partnerships.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
