Job Title: Finance Executive Account Payable (6-month Maternity Cover)

The Opportunity:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Finance Executive to join our Accounts Payable team for 6-month maternity cover. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and processing all aspects of accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. This role requires a high level of accuracy, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle full payment processing, including but not limited to the tasks below.
Obtain approvals for payment requisitions
Input payment details into the bank portal
Request bank authorizers to approve transactions in the bank portal
Record payments in the daily payment register and accounting system
Track payment statuses to ensure successful completion
Reconcile payment records between the payment register and bank statement
Liaise with bank to resolve any bounced-back payments
Handle month-end closing activities, such as posting journals, preparing monthly schedules, conducting quarterly GL analysis, and tracking of accruals.
Ensure timely follow up and clearing of outstanding items in balance sheet schedules (i.e., bank reconciliation, suspense account)
Involve in monthly and quarterly intercompany reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to complete the payment process efficiently
Involve in quarterly internal control processes.
Assist in various ad-hoc tasks related to month end and year end closing, projects and statutory requirements such as audit, tax filings, MAS reporting, etc.
Adhere to company policies and processes, including those related to Finance and Accounts Payable.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
Diploma or bachelors degree in finance/accountancy or a related field
Minimum 2 to 3 years of proven experience in a similar financial role
Experience in insurance industry is a plus
Strong understanding of payment processing and reconciliation
Proficiency in using SAP is a plus
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders
Able to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
Able to work independently and as part of a team
