PURPOSE
The role main responsibility is to assist in the management of Finance Department with strong interaction with Human Resources Department.
KEY ACCOUNTAIBILITIES
Report directly to the Financial Controller and oversee Finance function, including reporting, operations and HR admin.
Finance
- Lead and inspire team to ensure the integrity of all financials reported by the company is maintained at all times
- Oversee the preparation and dissemination of accurate and timely financial information and reports, including the month end closing process.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of management and regulatory reporting.
- Maintain integrity of the financial accounting system and ensure that the Chart of Accounts and General Ledgers are set up accordingly for proper book-keeping.
- Manage the accounts payable and disbursement process and ensure timely and accurate transaction processing and reconciliation.
- Monitor and manage cashflows of the Company and ensure that there is sufficient liquidity for daily operations.
- Manage year end audit process, including working with relevant stakeholders on resolutions of audit findings.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement and review internal controls and procedures for all applicable finance processes.
- Establish and update accounting policies for the Company and ensure that they are compliant with the relevant accounting standards.
- Drive finance transformation initiatives to improve processes, systems and overall financial performance.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making for relevant stakeholders.
- Develop expenses control process, monitor expenses and provide meaningful analysis to relevant stakeholders.
- Handles tax and GST related matters, including IRAS filings.
HR
- Develop, review, and update HR and administrative policies to align with business changes and operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations and internal policies, including payroll, benefits, and employee relations.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and manage the recruitment process.
- Oversee onboarding programs to facilitate smooth integration of new hires and maintain retention.
- Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely salary and benefits payments.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualification (e.g. ACCA/CPA/ICAEW)
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, with the recent 3 years in finance leadership position.
- Prior experience in financial advisory firm or insurance industry is preferred.
- Good knowledge of finance functions and processes, including tax and GST.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and manage both internal and external stakeholders.
- Sound understanding of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and MAS regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge and experience of best practice within industry to consistently improve delivery within department.
- Able to multi-tasks, well-organised and work within tight deadlines.
- High personal levels of motivation and delivery orientated focus, with good aptitude in problem-solving.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, policies, and compliance.
