Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounting and financial matters of the Church, maintain good governance and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Update and maintain Church Finance Manual.
  • Work closely with Church leaders and Finance and Investment Committee on Finance, investment and governance matters.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly reporting to the Local Church Executive Committee and quarterly reporting to Finance Committee & Investment Committee.
  • Consolidate annual budget, review individual ministry budgets on a quarterly basis.
  • Manage the yearly audit/ad-hoc audit including preparation of Statutory accounts for Faith Methodist Church with the consolidation of Joint Management Committee (JMC) account.
  • Submit reports to Charity Portal on the Church Account and Overseas Expenditure.
  • Oversee the annual pledge exercise.
  • Supervise Finance team in day-to-day accounting duties.

Requirements:

  • Minimun Diploma in Accounting or equivalent with 8 years relevant experience in a supervisory role.
  • Have strong accounting background with good working knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards and statutory requirements.
  • Proficient in using accounting software MYOB and MS Excel
  • Hands-on, teamplayer, meticulous, good organization and analytical skills.
  • 5 day work-week (Mondays Fridays) and one Sunday in a month.
