Firewall Engineer

Join the Firewall Team to maintain the 24/7 Firewalls and Internet Proxy infrastructure. Collaborate with engineers to ensure high availability, security, and performance. Work across disciplines (Network, Platform, Storage, Database, Applications) to manage changes, requests, and incidents.

Responsibilities:

• Optimize and tune Firewall and Proxy rules.
• Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for issues.
• Plan and support technology refresh and migration activities.
• Maintain Firewall/Proxy standard documentation.
• Explore new technologies for operational efficiency.
• Follow ITIL change processes for Firewall/Proxy changes.
• Work with application teams and users to resolve access issues.
• Ensure operational processes and controls are documented and implemented.

Requirements:

• Degree with 8+ years of Firewall administration experience in the financial industry.
• Experience with Firewall and Internet Proxy changes.
• Knowledge of Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Tufin, Symantec.
• Proficient in network routing/switching and ITIL processes.
• Strong analytical, planning, and security/perimeter defense skills.
• Relevant certifications (PCNSA, PCNSE, CCSA, CCSE) preferred.
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and cover on-call shifts as needed.
