Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Deputy Manager in implementing, reviewing, and improving the safety protocols to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Overseeing HSE activities to ensure compliance with external regulations and organizational standards, and working to keep up with any changes in these regulations.
  • Regularly monitoring HSE performance, identifying recurring issues, and recommending process, equipment, or technological changes to enhance safety and sustainability.
  • Creating or updating HSE policies and procedures to keep them current, effective, and relevant.
  • Collaborating with teams to integrate safety planning into workflows and proactively prevent incidents.
  • Ensuring that subcontractors follow HSE policies and procedures.
  • Assisting in developing and implementing training programs to build safety awareness and skills among employees.
  • Responding efficiently to incidents, leading investigations, and maintaining comprehensive HSE documentation and reports.
  • Staying informed of the latest HSE trends and best practices and implementing these as applicable.

The Successful Applicant

Requirements:

  • At least a Diploma or certificate in Health and Safety or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the marine industry, with a proven track record of maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Demonstrates robust HSE expertise (high HSE DNA) to lead and drive safety performance.
  • Skilled at working with a diverse, multinational team and capable of leading by example.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and skilled in writing business and technical reports and presenting findings.
