We have an exciting new opportunity for a Flight Operations Remote Pilot in Singapore to support our drone delivery, survey, and surveillance operations. The successful candidate will also help us with proof-of-concept projects in the region as we expand our operations throughout Asia Pacific. You will be based in Singapore, but you will also be required to travel internationally.
Skyports provides our customers with a drone-agnostic solution, which means we can use cutting-edge drone technologies to solve real-world problems. The use cases for drones to assist in solving these problems are expanding, and we are looking for someone to assist in executing these opportunities.
You will:
- Learn how to fly our diverse fleet of drone systems (both manual and automated piloting) for a variety of applications (incl. drone delivery, survey and surveillance)
- Obtain the licences required to legally operate as a commercial drone pilot in the countries in which we operate - outside of Singapore, our expert team will be on hand to ensure we meet the legal requirements to operate
- Learn how to set up and operate complex BVLOS operations
- Participate as a pilot or observer in automatic long-range BVLOS delivery projects and testing programmes using commercial drones
- Be in charge of ground handling, pre-flight, post-flight, and routine maintenance of drone systems, as well as the installation of ground-based infrastructure at take-off and landing sites
- Be deployed on projects both domestically and internationally - you will be required to travel and should be comfortable travelling to various geographies on short notice for extended periods of time typically 4-8 weeks
- Be a team player in every way. We are a small but growing team, and everyone contributes to everything at some point
- Report to our APAC Flight Operations Manager to ensure your growth and advancement within the company are on track
- Be required to travel internationally and be comfortable travelling to various geographies on short notice for extended periods of time
- Support a shift rotation that provides operational output seven days a week. Every RP works five days a week with at least two days off
Requirements
- You will be a responsible individual with high safety standards
- Have strong communication skills. Skyports has a just culture that is heavily reliant on our Remote Pilots being open and honest
- Possess a current Unmanned Aircraft Pilots licence (UAPL)
- There is a lot of interest in using cargo deliveries in a variety of difficult environments
- Strong problem-solving abilities, as well as the ability to think on your feet and complete tasks
- Self-starter who is highly motivated and proactive and enjoys a challenge
- As this is a new industry, no one has all the answers, so you must be comfortable navigating through ambiguity
- Possess a valid Class 3 driver's licence
- Have the ability to travel for extended periods of time (4-8 weeks at a time)
Nice to have (not essential):
- Experience in aviation (RPAS or other aviation) in a flight operation, engineering or training role. This may be through a commercial (airline or drone company) or military background.
