Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, creative, and energetic Enrichment Dance Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will introduce young children (ages 3-6) to the world of dance, movement, and rhythm in a fun and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a love for working with young children, a solid understanding of early childhood development, and the ability to design engaging, age-appropriate dance activities that promote physical, cognitive, and emotional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will lead weekly dance classes for preschool-aged children (ages 3-6), focusing on creative movement, coordination, rhythm, and self-expression.
- You will follow lesson plans provided to you, modifications of lesson plans may be required to meet the needs of different groups.
- Use positive reinforcement and encouragement to create a supportive, inclusive, and non-competitive environment.
- Adapt activities to meet the diverse needs of children, ensuring that all participants feel included and successful.
- Communicate regularly with parents and company about student's progress and development in dance.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for dance activities.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development workshops, and other events as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a preschool or early childhood education setting.
- Strong background in dance (ballet, jazz, creative movement, etc.) and knowledge of age-appropriate teaching methods.
- Enthusiastic, patient, and able to work with children in a playful and nurturing manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively with young children and their families.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A degree in early childhood education, dance, or a related field is a plus.
- ECDA medical check is required for this postion.
