The Front of House (FOH) Service Staff is crucial in ensuring that guests have a positive dining experience, from the moment they enter the restaurant until they leave.

Reports To: Restaurant Manager, Assistant Manager

Job Summary:


The Front Restaurant Service Staff is responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests in a restaurant setting. This includes greeting guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, handling payments, and ensuring that guests have an enjoyable dining experience.

The role requires strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Guest Interaction:

    - Greet and welcome guests warmly upon arrival.

    - Escort guests to their tables and present menus.

    - Provide detailed information on menu items, including specials and promotions.

    - Answer any questions or provide recommendations on food and beverage choices.

  • Order Taking and Serving:

    - Accurately take guest orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff.

    - Serve food and beverages promptly and in a professional manner.

    - Ensure that all orders are delivered correctly and meet the restaurants standards.

    - Monitor tables to anticipate guest needs and respond to requests efficiently.

  • Table Management:

    - Set up tables with appropriate utensils, napkins, and condiments before guests are seated.

    - Clear and reset tables quickly after guests have finished dining.

    - Maintain a clean and organized dining area at all times.

    - Assist in preparing the dining room for special events or large parties.

  • Payment Handling:

    - Present the bill to guests at the end of their meal and process payments accurately.

    - Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions securely and efficiently.

    - Provide correct change and receipts to guests.

  • -Address any guest concerns or complaints with a positive and helpful attitude.
  • - Communicate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure any issues are resolved promptly.
  • - Ensure that guests leave the restaurant satisfied and encourage them to return.


  • Collaboration:

    - Work closely with other front-of-house staff, such as hosts, bartenders, and bussers, to ensure smooth service.

    - Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding special requests or dietary restrictions.

    - Assist team members during busy periods to maintain service efficiency.





  • Health & Safety Compliance:

    - Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food handling, sanitation, and hygiene standards.

    - Ensure that all service areas are clean and well-maintained.

    - Follow proper procedures for cleaning and storing utensils and equipment.

  • Upselling and Promotion:

    - Suggest additional items or special promotions to enhance the guest experience.

    - Encourage guests to try new menu items or specialty drinks.

  • Professional Development:

    - Attend team meetings to stay updated on menu changes, service standards, and restaurant policies.

    - Continuously improve knowledge of food and beverages to provide better service.

    Qualifications:


    - Previous experience in a customer service or restaurant environment is preferred.

    - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    - Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

    - A positive attitude and professional appearance.

    Physical Requirements:


    - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

    Working Hours:


    - Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the restaurants needs.

    Compensation:


    - Hourly wage or salary, depending on experience.
