Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and carry out instructional activities that promote active learning experiences
- Establish and convey clear objectives for all learning activities
- Prepare classroom for class activities
- Prepare variety of learning materials for use in educational activities
- Identify and select a variety of instructional resources and methods to cater to students varying needs
- Use relevant technology to support instruction
- Observe and evaluate students performance and development
- Set different forms of assessments such as quizzes, tests and examinations
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of students progress and development
- Prepare reports on students and activities
- Manage student behavior in the classroom appropriately
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the disciplinary system of the school
- Apply appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary
- Perform certain pastoral duties such as student support and counseling
- Communicate necessary information frequently to students, colleagues and parents pertaining to student progress and student needs
- Keep updated with subject area, teaching resources and methodologies and make pertinent changes to instructional plans and activities
- Conduct remedial lessons to help underachievers reach expected competencies in core academic skills
- Work closely with form teacher to maintain discipline of subject class and to care for the well-being of students
- Any other duties as assigned by the Principal, Vice-Principal or Head of Department
Requirements
- Diploma holder or above with at least 3 years of relevant working experience
- Familiar with Singapore curriculum
- Passionate about teaching and are constantly able to see the best in a child
- Dynamic and energetic
- Pleasant disposition
- Conversant in a second language besides English
- Competent PC skills
