We are looking for an exceptional
General Manager (GM) to balance strategic and operational leadership for a startup that is emerging beyond MVP to finding product-market-fit and scale. As GM and Head of Edutainment Ventures, you will drive business strategy and growth, build and lead cross-functional teams, manage senior C-suite and board level stakeholders, pitch to investors for fundraising activities and operate with a jobs-to-be-done mindset, leaning in to solve problems on the ground if needed.
It is important for this individual to harbor a genuine passion for conservation, sustainability and empowering children towards a better future.
In this role you will:
Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute short-term and long-term strategies to achieve business objectives and growth targets to scale 1-10 beyond product-market-fit
- Lead company operations, financial and organizational management, and overall growth strategy and milestones (e.g product launch, customer acquisition and revenue)
- Inspire and motivate people, rallying your team and stakeholders towards a shared purpose
Commercials & Investor Relations
- Lead go-to-market and monetization strategy to scale business in Singapore and beyond
- Own P&L and cash flow, overseeing financial health and managing budgets
- Drive fundraising effort to ensure financial viability of the venture in the long-term
Sales & Business Development
- Lead the sales and business development efforts, working with the team to identify and pursue new opportunities to expand the company's customer base and revenue streams
- Develop deep relationships with C-suite executives, key customers, strategic partners and external stakeholders
- Leverage the venture's unfair advantages to negotiate complex commercial contracts and close deals
People Leadership & Talent Management
- Attract, recruit and retain world-class Talent
- Build and lead high-performing teams, providing mentorship, support and career growth opportunities for employees to thrive
You should have:
- 15+ years total experience across startups, ventures and corporate environments
- Track record of scaling startups/ventures beyond product-market-fit in the capacity of a CEO, GM, or relevant senior leadership roles
- P&L ownership managing budgets of at least $5M
- Experience leading sales and business development for both B2B and B2C products
- Product lifecycle management, with expertise in strategic roadmap development, feature prioritizations, and agile methodologies;
- Experience raising external funding from institutional investors
- Excellent communication and ability to effectively engage diverse stakeholders with experience presenting product vision to C-Suite, board members and external stakeholders while fostering teamwork across all levels;
- Proven ability to attract, mentor and develop talent in product, design and technology;
- Passion for conservation, sustainability and for empowering the future generations
Bonus points for:
- Experience in building and managing Intellectual Property (IP)
- Background in Education, Entertainment, Gaming, Conservation, Sustainability, Tourism or related fields
