We are looking for a Design Manager to lead a team of geotechnical design engineers in the world's largest geotechnical specialist contractor.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design works in accordance with site specific HSEQ Construction Methodologies, Risk Assessments, Site Rules and Keller Policies and Procedures.
- Understand and manage clients requirements and their obligations in the development of a building design.
- Liaise positively & actively with clients, consultants & authorities using his/her technical expertise to adopt / accept / approve the technical proposal for the projects.
- Ensure the design process adheres to current legislation, standards and codes of practice.
- Ensure the design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timelines.
- Strive to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction.
- Preparing detailed investigation report for any incidents related to technical issue.
- Review with the Business Development team on project closing reports and develop future improvement plans / strategies to reduce risk(s).
- Be involved in society work, including writing papers to seminars.
- Design D&B solutions, including solutions for ground improvement where relevant.
- Lead, develop and provide training to the team of Engineers.
- Provide technical marketing of solutions to clients and consultants.
- Conduct regular site visits to train and create buy-in from site personnel to promote quality and good practices.
This role may require travel to overseas offices to participate in global expertise groups and overseas projects occasionally.
Requirements
- Possess a PEB-recognised Master's degree in Civil Engineering or higher.
- Proficient in soil mechanics and finite element modelling software (i.e. PLAXIS 2D and 3D).
- At least 10 years experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably in ground improvement.
- Have experience leading a team of geotechnical design engineers.
- Have experience liaising with authorities, clients and contractors.
