Duties and Responsibilities of GeoTechnical Engineer
1) You are responsible for exploring and surveying the construction site thoroughly.
2) Together with your team, you are responsible for performing geotechnical investigations to obtain information of the soil and rock properties for designing earthworks and foundations for the project.
3) Collecting samples such as rock, sand, and similar substances from the site and arranging for various laboratory tests on soil, rock and underground water samples.
4) Analyzing the ground stress which includes capacity and stress levels.
5) Creating 2D and 3D models using computer applications.
6) Taking care of geological hazards while planning the project.
7) Solve engineering problems relating to geological formations
8) Preserving nature and protecting the environment.
9) Where necessary, provide advice to other engineers and construction personnel of the project team
Requirements
. Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
. Work experience as a Geotechnical Engineer, Geologist, , or a similar position.
. Must possess at least 5 years of working experience in similar field
. Demonstrate expertise in Climatology and Mathematics.
. Excellent physical stamina.
. A valid driver's license.
. Proficiency in Geotechnical engineering software such as Geo Studio, Geo5, Plaxis and Flac3D.
. Great interpersonal skills.
. Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
. Strong organizational skills.
. Ability to work in a team or individually as and when required.
. Ability to manage and handle multiple tasks.
. Outstanding problem-solving skills.
. Exceptional attention to detail.
. Good time management abilities.
. Strong decision-making skills.
. Able to start work within 2 weeks of job offer will have an added advantage
. Salary will commensurate with experience
