Key Responsibilities
- Provide support in design projects, taking responsibility for defined project areas and ensuring quality and accuracy in your work.
- Represent your team in internal meetings, occasionally organizing events or assisting with small business projects.
- Assist in planning and designing fire protection systems, collaborating with architects and construction teams to incorporate fire safety measures, suppression systems, fire alarms, and smoke control.
- Support the development of fire safety strategies, perform basic risk assessments, and participate in reviewing fire protection designs for compliance.
- Conduct construction inspections when needed, communicate project details with the design team, and stay alert for opportunities to expand project scope, discussing any potential variations with your PM or team leader.
Requirements
- Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering Degree or similar area (recognized qualification for application of FSE registration is an advantage).
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in fire engineering
- Knowledge in CFD and evacuation modelling software such as Fire Dynamics Simulator.
- Basic knowledge in 3D CAD software
- Working knowledge of the following design software: - Rhino (Basic), Revit (Basic) and/or AutoCAD (Basic) - Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) - Occupant evacuation software (e.g., Pathfinder, etc)
