SIPEF is a Belgian agribusiness company listed on Euronext Brussels. It operates mainly agro-industrial activities in the production of sustainable oil palm products, including fresh fruit bunches (FFB), crude palm oil (CPO), palm kernels (PK), and crude palm kernel oil (CPKO), and sustainable bananas.

The Group's operations are focused in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Cte d'Ivoire, with the Group Headquarters in Schoten, Belgium. Since 2021, SIPEF has also been operating in Singapore through SIPEF Singapore Pte Ltd.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated GHG Manager with expertise in calculation methodology, data management, analysis, and reporting of GHG emissions. The primary focus of this role will be to ensure SIPEF's group GHG data disclosures and greenhouse gas emissions reporting within the oil palm and banana industries are compliant with European Union (EU) regulations and aligned with GHG Protocol and SBTi requirements. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in collecting, analysing, and reporting data to support the Group's commitment to sustainable practices and transparent reporting for the Group and all its subsidiaries.
Position is located in Singapore and will require occassional travel to and within Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive GHG inventory for all company operations.
- Ensure accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting of GHG emissions.
- Model future emissions based on decarbonisation strategy
- Conduct training and awareness programs for employees on GHG management and sustainability practices.
- Formulate and implement GHG reduction targets & strategies in line with SBTi
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in SIPEF's operations to integrate GHG reduction initiatives into business operations.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international GHG regulations and standards.
- Prepare and submit GHG reports toregulatory bodies and stakeholders.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote GHG reduction initiatives.
- Represent the company in industry forums and sustainability networks.
- Monitor progress towards GHG reduction targets and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Lead the development, maintenance and enhancement of GHG data collection and reporting platform(s) with IT department.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of GHG reduction initiatives and recommend improvements.

Environmental Science: Deep understanding of Forest, Land and Agriculture (FLAG) land emissions and use of geospatial data to estimate relevant carbon pools. GHG target setting, GHG modelling including predictive use of decarbonization levers for emissions reductions. Environmental regulations and the interplay between regulatory requirements and markets.
Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with local and international environmental regulations and standards related to greenhouse gas emissions, including benchmark reporting such as CDP Climate Change.
Communication and Collaboration: Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication skills to work with various stakeholders, including operational teams, smallholders, company executives/management teams, voluntary certifications (e.g. RSPO, ISCC) and regulatory bodies.
Reporting: Proficiency in preparing and presenting reports on greenhouse gas emissions and sustainability efforts.
